Nitpicking? Sharing a border on a landmass? makes a nation the same as it’s neighbouring nation?
Go try that theory out on others. How about people from Pakistan can be called Indian? Maybe people in Turkey can be called Iraqis? People from Venezuela can be called Columbians?
You should find a high school geography teacher and take this discussion up with them. They may have more patience with you than I can muster up.
